About

Have you ever perceived a stranger in a certain way because of their voice and the way they spoke? And then you got to know them, and they weren’t what you expected?

I help people present their true personalities by coaching them to use their voice with proper pitch, rhythm and breath support. I also help people with diction and pronunciation so that they can communicate effectively with others in multi-lingual, multi-accent, multi-national Singapore. I do so by helping people overcome their individual communication barriers so that they can connect with potential friends or life partners, and gain respect professionally. Coaching in public speaking is another service I provide. I hold a professional certificate of communications from Trinity College London.

I also provide the voice for corporate training videos, announcements and audiobooks for clients who need a voice that’s warm, soothing and expressive in Mandarin and a range of accents in English; and for advertisements which require voice acting and character voices. My most recent client was SportsSG.

Aside from voice work, I also write non-fiction articles on contract and short stories. I have been published in a variety of publications including the MCYS newsletter and two anthologies by the British Council. I also wrote social media profiles for 20 Engineering professors from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). In 2016, I won first prize in the writing competition ‘Diversity in Words’.

From 2001 to 2006, I conducted jewellery-making workshops at the Singapore Art Museum and People’s Association, teaching more than 2000 students during that time. I was also a certified Swarovski trainer for a year.

For pleasure, I volunteered as a docent for 9 years, guiding visitors at the Singapore Art Museum, The Asian Civilisations Museum and The History Museum. I also sang with the Singapore Symphony Chorus in the soprano section for 9 years.

Voice, words and communication are my passion. If you would like to transform the way you or your child communicates with others, write to me at mmtang68@gmail.com.
